No repeat days

Welcome star date 01.01.2025.  With 365 days ahead, what legacy will you leave after each precious prefix-Mon, Tues, Wed…?  A fresh start every day with goals, ambitions, and challenges right around the corner waiting to be experienced with a few good memories that will become part of the pivotal moments in your life you will always look back on and cherish. 

Every year I create a motto to live by to springboard the year off to a great start.  In 2025 I’ve posed this question to myself to think about-Wait for the perfect moment or make the moment perfect?

This year marks 5 years since the inception of Red Bicycle Books which has been a dream of mine since I was 16 when I put together my list of dreams and goals I wanted to achieve on a tiny notebook pad of paper I still keep to this day.  I knew if I waited for the perfect moment to create this company, then I probably would have never opened. 

One of the things I’ve learned throughout my healing process with Lyme Disease is that it would be a really nice feature to be able to erase, start over, or press delete when life becomes challenging.  The kind of ease that comes with being an author.  If we don’t like what we wrote, we press the delete button and it’s gone as if it never happened, but unfortunately, life doesn’t work that way.  There are no repeat days.  We only move forward and I was going to have to make the decision to pursue this dream regardless of my health situation.   

In the past five years, I’m incredibly grateful to have met the authors I’ve worked with to hear their stories and why they wanted to write their books.  The inspiration and vision that could only be told through their lens and perspective of life; the authenticity of how they use their words to tell their story, some that brought me to tears because of how they touched my heart and what they taught me in the process. 

It is why this year I’ve chosen this theme to celebrate these past five years at Red Bicycle Books:

We learn as we pedal forward together. 

It simply means we create to inspire each other.  We are stronger when we work as one.  This is where gratitude truly shines. 

Life without risk is life without reward.  I realize if I waited for everything to be perfect in my life, I probably wouldn’t have the courage to go after my dreams.  Today I invite you to take that leap of faith knowing somehow the universe will guide your steps in the direction you are meant to travel with or without a red bicycle. 

I’m grateful for you, my family, my friends, and colleagues, as I wouldn’t be here without you.  This year I hope you make those dreams as big as your appetite and chase them.  Don’t wait for the perfect moment, make the moments you have perfect.  You have great things to accomplish in this year.  Leave a note or two of what you have on your list.
